Acadiana is home to five ports providing access to navigable waterways, including the Gulf of Mexico: Port of Iberia, Port of Krotz Springs, Port of Vermilion, Twin Parish Port, and Mermentau River Harbor and Terminal District.

Access is via FWB and GIWW with a controlling depth of 12 feet.
